Blair is confused

Following the London bombings of 7/7/2005, Blair stated the following, regarding the motivation of the Islamic terrorists:

"We will start to beat this when we stand up and confront the ideology of this evil. Not just the methods but the ideas. When we actually have people going into the [Muslim] communities here in this country and elsewhere and saying I am sorry, we are not having any of this nonsense about it is to do whith what the British are doing in Iraq, or Afghanistan, or support for Israel, or support for America, or any of the rest of it. It is nonsense, and we have to confront it as that. And when we confront it, then we will start to beat it. And we are not going to deal with this problem, with the roots as deep as they are, until we confront these people at every single level. And not just their methods, but their ideas."

More recently, Blair has praised the Quran:

"The most remarkable thing about reading the Koran – in so far as it can be truly translated from the original Arabic - is to understand how progressive it is.

"I speak with great diffidence and humility as a member of another faith. I am not qualified to make any judgements. But as an outsider, the Koran strikes me as a reforming book, trying to return Judaism and Christianity to their origins, rather as reformers attempted with the Christian Church centuries later. It is inclusive. It extols science and knowledge and abhors superstition. It is practical and way ahead of its time in attitudes to marriage, women and governance," he said.

So, Mr Blair, where do the Islamic terrorists get their ideas? Clearly Islamic terrorism (and opression) has existed for many centuries, so there is some truth in the assertion that it is not simply due to our involvement in Iraq or Afghanistan, or our support for Israel.

Maybe Blair believes that they get their ideas from little green men, who take the peace-loving Muslims on board their flying saucers, and brain wash them into becoming Islamic terrorists?

A rather more credible explanation, of course, is that it is the Quran that is the primary inspiration for Islamic terror. Therefore, how is praising the Quran achieving what Blair himself vowed to do: "And we are not going to deal with this problem, with the roots as deep as they are, until we confront these people at every single level. And not just their methods, but their ideas."

Blair is being excessively optimistic:

"We will start to beat this when we stand up and confront the ideology of this evil." Unfortunately, the ideology of the evil is deeply engrained in the Quran itself. There have been many centuries of greater leaders than Blair standing up and confronting Islam. The possibility that Blair will achieve very much in the few months remaining of his premiership is rather improbable.

Blair is a grinning fool. His probable sucessor Gordon Brown does not do grinning, but appears not to understand Islam either.

"And how many a town that We destroyed, so Our punishment came to it by night or while they slept at midday." Quran 7.4

"When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them." Quran 8.12

"And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah; but if they desist, then surely Allah sees what they do." Quran 8.39

"O Prophet! urge the believers to war; if there are twenty patient ones of you they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a hundred of you they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they are a people who do not understand." Quran 8.65

"So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful." "Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection." "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil)." Quran 9.123

"And when We wish to destroy a town, We send Our commandment to the people of it who lead easy lives, but they transgress therein; thus the word proves true against it, so We destroy it with utter destruction." Quran 17.16

"On the day when the trumpet shall be blown, and We will gather the guilty, blue-eyed, on that day" Quran 20.102

"Cursed: wherever they are found they shall be seized and murdered, a (horrible) murdering." Quran 33.61

Humanity needs peace not Islam.
